Dr. Marcos Vargas attended Cayetano Heredia University School of Dentistry in Lima, Peru and graduated in 1985. He spent two years, 1990 to 1992, in the AEGD program at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, NY. Dr. Vargas received his Certificate and Master’s Degree in Operative Dentistry in 1994 at the University of Iowa where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Family Dentistry. Dr. Marcos Vargas has published extensively in the area of dental adhesion and composite resin for over 25 years. He maintains a private practice limited to Operative Dentistry with an emphasis on esthetic dentistry.

    (If you attend the entire 2 day weekend, you will receive 16 hrs AGD Operative or Esthetics Participation Credit.  16 additional hours of participation credit may be earned by presenting a clinical homework assignment after the course and presenting in March of 2025.  There is an additional fee of $600. )

    Format:  Participants engage in practical exercises for composite restorations. A live step-by step demonstration for each exercise will be done, following by the participants doing their own restorations. 

    The following exercises will be done:

    Exercise 1:  Resin veneer.  Participants will have the chance to learn preparation, placement, contouring and polishing of direct resin veneers.

    Exercise 2.  Anterior cut back technique to obtain 1) Multi-color, multi-opacity anterior restorations. 2) Halo and translucency when necessary.

     Exercise 3. Posterior composites. Master proper placement techniques, materials, band, wedges and rings ensuring good anatomy and proximal contacts.

      Due to the popularity of the lecture and hands on course, we encourage you to register early and take advantage of the member discounts. Space is limited!!!

      If space allows, you may be able to bring your assistant with you to the hands on portion on Saturday. This will be determined by September 6, 2024.  The charge for your assistant to attend both days is $995.

      Don’t forget to take advantage of HUGE member only discounts if you register by July 10th!
